Conference shines spotlight on creativity

The conference will be hosted by Wales Arts International and the University of Bangor as part of the Toolquiz European partnership. The partnership explores the range of models available for policy makers at European, national, regional and local level to support the right mixture of artistic and creative skills for creative businesses and the private sector more broadly in the future. Its findings will be presented to EU policy makers as testimony of the contribution creative skills and thinking make to the future European economy.

Peter Jones: An appreciation

The Council at its meeting on the 16th November at the Riverfront in Newport formally registered the sad loss of Peter Jones, the Visual Arts Director of the then Welsh Arts Council, in the years 1964 through to his retirement in 1995. Peter died in West Wales, in September aged 79 after a protracted battle with Parkinson’s disease.
