Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru welcomes three new members of the company’s Board of Trustees

Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru is pleased to announce that they have recently welcomed three new members of the company’s Board of Directors. Catherine Rees, Gwyn Williams and Meilir Rhys Williams were appointed in February of this year, and all three attended their first official meeting of the Board on 9th June.

REMEMBERING MORFYDD

In a change to its traditional format and timings, Gregynog Festival 2018 features a series of collaborations led by Artistic Director, Dr Rhian Davies, to commemorate the centenary of the death on 7 September 1918 of the outstanding Welsh composer, singer and pianist Morfydd Owen (1891-1918). Rhian is the leading authority on Morfydd, the subject of her Doctorate (1999) and pictorial biography Never So Pure a Sight / Yr Eneth Ddisglair Annwyl (1994).

G39 secures share of £1.5m fund to support early career artists

We are very excited to announce that g39 will be one of four visual arts organisations taking part in the Freelands Artist Programme, a major philanthropic investment supporting emerging artistic practices in the UK regions. The Programme is a new initiative by Freelands Foundation, which was founded by the media executive Elisabeth Murdoch in 2015.

theatr Gen Creu: New Writers’ Group

The New Writers\’ group is a unique opportunity for up to 8 new or emerging theatre writers to develop their craft through a series of events, workshops and mentorship over a period of 10 months. The aim of the New Writers’ Group is to nurture future talent in Welsh-language theatre writing, and to enable new and diverse voices to flourish. The project will also help those individuals to develop their craft as they create new work for the theatre in Welsh.
