London Contemporary Dance School (LCDS) will visit Cardiff with its LC3 project in June and will be hosted by National Dance Company Wales, (NDCWales). The LC3 project gives young people an insight into studying dance at degree level and the challenges of an exciting but competitive industry. The project includes a touring company made up of third year graduating students on the dance school’s prestigious degree programme.

On Friday 15th June young people considering a career in dance can hear a talk from Trisha Rianne, Head of Ballet and Production Director of LC3, and LCDS graduating students, who follow this with a performance of their own work, plus choreography from Richard Alston and Rick Nodine.

This is followed by a workshop on Saturday 16th June. Led by the LC3 students, it’s the perfect chance for young people to ask questions and listen to firsthand experiences about studying dance at LCDS.

"It’s a great opportunity for young aspiring dancers to get a genuine experience of the dedication and talent required to study dance at a high level," said NDCWales Artistic Director Ann Sholem.

NDCWales works in association with LCDS to offer a year long apprenticeship programme, which is part of a MA administered by LCDS; several of our Company dancers have been offered professional contracts after studying on this scheme.

LC3 is at the Dance House, Cardiff: Friday 15th; educational talk from 6-7pm and performance at 7:30pm. Saturday 16th; workshop from 11:00am-12:30pm. The talk, performance and workshop are FREE; to secure a place in the workshop you must have attended the talk and performance the previous evening.
