Arts Council's consultation on its future National Lottery distribution strategy – still time to contribute comments

During the past two months Arts Council of Wales has hosted five public events as part of its month consultation on its future strategy for distributing funds from the National Lottery. This consultation will shape its strategy for the coming five years.

Kath Davies, the Arts Council’s Director of Investment and Funding Services said today:
"The public meetings we have held as part of this consultation have been very successful and it has been great to hear voices from all parts of Wales.

"This consultation is very important for the Council. Since 1995 we’ve have been acting as a National Lottery Funds Distributor and during the past 23 years have funded 13,502 projects across Wales and distributed £287m of Lottery funds.

"Arts Council of Wales has used National Lottery funds to support artists and organisations to undertake new and exciting work and have helped create a network of notable buildings across the nation.

"But nothing stands still, so since November we’ve been undertaking one of our most ambitious consultations ever, and there is still an opportunity for everyone in Wales to contribute to it. The outcomes of the consultation will determine the way in which the Council distributes the funds it receives from the sale of National Lottery tickets for the next five years."
